5 Signs You’ve Hired the Right HVAC Company

March 20th, 2017

HVAC Company

Finding the right HVAC company when you need work done may seem like a difficult task, but it’s easier than you realize if you know what to look for. Rather than hope that whoever you hire will somehow be OK, do your research first by looking for these five characteristics.

Experience and History
Look for a traceable history and a lot of experience working on HVAC systems. While new companies could be just fine, if they have no history, you have no proof that the technicians will actually do a good job on your home. The right HVAC company has a proven track record.

Customer Service
Don’t settle for being at the HVAC company’s whim; look for one that offers excellent customer service. Answers to your questions should be straightforward and polite, and the company should offer preliminary consultations. The company should be able to give you at least a reasonable window of time in which the techs will show up, or keep you up to date on when the techs are on their way over.

Licensing, Bonding, Certification, and Insurance
Any HVAC company that knows what it’s doing will be properly licensed, bonded, and insured, and its technicians will be certified. If you use a company that does not have proper insurance or other consumer safeguards, you risk getting into a situation where the company damages your system or home but leaves you holding the repair bill.

Proof of Warranty
Any work done by an HVAC company should have a warranty or a guarantee — and the technicians should be able to provide it in writing. Your receipt, work agreement, or at the very least, the company website, should have a clear explanation of what warranties and guarantees apply to the work.

Good Preparation
If you hire an HVAC company that has already done a preliminary evaluation of the problem, the technicians sent to complete the job should have with them the necessary tools and parts to fix the system. There’s always the chance that the tech will discover a new problem, of course, but overall, the techs should be able to address the original problem with a minimum of interruption for trips to get supplies.

Whatever is going on with your home’s HVAC, it can be fixed. The right HVAC company will ensure you are in the loop and that the work is done efficiently.
